In 2021, Jonathan Lugo founded the FirmSecured program at Veritas Risk Management in Johnson City, TN as a specialized E&O division for real estate and property management firms. The goal was simple: help brokers understand what their policies actually cover, where other policies fall short, and how to avoid exclusions that can create real problems when a claim happens.
As FirmSecured grew, Jonathan and the Veritas team worked closely with PBI Group behind the scenes, placing clients with PBI Group's exclusive E&O program.
PBI Group, led by Paul Bondy, serves more than 1,500 real estate service firms nationwide, and over time it became clear this was the right fit. Both groups approached coverage the same way, with a focus on the details of the policy, honest guidance, and doing things the right way for the client.
In the summer of 2025, Jonathan and FirmSecured officially joined forces with PBI Group.
For clients, the transition was straightforward. The coverage stayed the same, Jonathan remained the main point of contact, and the overall approach did not change. Behind the scenes was an added larger team, more shared knowledge, and more consistency in how policies are structured and supported.
The FirmSecured name has since been phased out, but it is still the same approach, now backed by a larger team focused on the same niche.
Veritas Risk Management continues to serve clients locally for general home, auto, life and business insurance needs across Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. Andrew Darlington remains closely involved with Veritas and is also supporting the PBI Group team.
